At Houston Methodist, the Enterprise Architect position is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of Information Technology (IT) architecture models and their lower level components. This position interprets, uses and applies information contained within Information Technology (IT) architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems. The Enterprise Architect ensures that the overall IT architecture is maintained in a coherent and consistent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality. The primary responsibility of the Enterprise Architect is to utilize strategic thinking to ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the Houston Methodist technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
o Bachelor's degree required. In lieu of bachelor's degree, an additional four years' experience in addition to the minimum experience required below.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
o Ten years of IT related experience to include five years' experience in an IT people management, senior level engineer, analyst, consultant, or solution architect role and two years healthcare experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
o At least one high level industry certification such as:
o Cisco Certified Architect (CCA),
o Cisco Certified Engineer (CCIE),
o Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA),
o Project Management Professional (PMP)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
o Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
o Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
o Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
o Extensive experience with developing strategic network infrastructure plans.
o Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
o Hands-on extensive experience with hardware and software from 2 or more networking vendors (Cisco, Extreme Networks, Bradford, Juniper, Foundry, and Nortel) is strongly preferred.
o Proven experience in network design and infrastructure systems.
o Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.
o Solid grounding in core infrastructure technologies such as: VMWare, Storage platforms, Citrix, VDI, Cloud technologies, etc.
o Exceptional strategic thinking skills and ability to identify and interpret medium and long-term industry trends and apply to current and future organizational needs.
o Proven project planning and management experience.
o Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
o Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
o Exceptional understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
o Ability to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible and maintain a positive work style.
