As a DevOps Software Engineer you will design, test, and implement advanced technologies to improve aircraft performance, safety, and reliability, so we continue to deliver excellent aviation solutions. You'll collaborate with other departments to ensure that our products and services meet the highest industry standards.

As an experienced DevOps Software Engineer with a broad understanding of the (full stack) software development lifecycle, you will work across various departments, to support and deploy production ready cloud based tools, as well as create and develop cost-effective software development systems within cross functional, (and subcontract), teams.

Work includes developing, deploying and carrying out software technical support, for cloud based tools that are used to support reliability, readiness and cost effect life cycle support for of gas turbine engines and other complex rotating equipment. (Typically AWS).

What you'll do:

• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS production applications.
• Develop and deploy fully functional architecture and tools to the AWS cloud
• Support the development and migration of web applications to the cloud (Ideally AWS Govcloud and/or Cloud One)
• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.
• Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
• Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving across different application domains and platforms.
• Pre-deployment acceptance testing.
• Carry out and/or oversee critical system security testing.
• Analyze and provide recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
• Deployment of metrics, logging, and monitoring systems on AWS platform.
• Design, maintenance and management tools for automation of different operational processes.
• Participates in projects as a team member and/or team project leader.
• Coordinates activities with the Manager of Engineering.
• Manages approved project timelines. Produces periodic project status reports comparing actual to forecasted timeline.
• Writes detailed technical reports to document information related to the understanding of relevant failure modes and the results of reliability analyses, prepares proposals & develops work instructions. Prepares and delivers presentations of analysis results to appropriate staff and customers.
• Carries out special duties as assigned.

What skills you will use:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills strongly preferred.
• Strong AWS knowledge preferred
• Software development experience is a must. C# or Python experience is preferred.
• Security+ Certification is preferred
• Strong disciplined work and project management skills.
• Database experience (Postgres, MySQL, etc. ) is preferred.
• Familiarity with DOD Software practices, systems, and publications helpful.
• Thorough knowledge of MS Office product suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to understand company instruction, company process and quality manuals.
• Must have US Person status, per ITAR & EAR requirements.
• Must be a US Citizen to obtain CAC Card.
• 7+ Years of Experience a must.
