Manager of Accounting Systems and Data Governance Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Accounting Systems and Data Governance to oversee and optimize our financial data management processes and systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, data governance, and technology, along with the ability to lead a team, implement best practices, and drive process improvements. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of our financial data while supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. Responsibilities: 1. Accounting Systems Management: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of accounting and financial systems, ensuring seamless integration with other business systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and execute system upgrades or changes to meet evolving business needs. Provide guidance and support for end-users, troubleshoot system-related issues, and ensure proper training and documentation. 2. Data Governance and Compliance: Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of financial data.

Monitor and enforce data quality controls, data retention policies, and data access permissions to comply with relevant regulations (eg, GDPR, SOX). Lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate data risks, ensuring data privacy and confidentiality. 3. Team Leadership: Manage a team of accounting systems and data governance professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback.

Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging professional growth and development within the team. 4. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial data management processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks, streamline workflows, and optimize data flow across different systems. 5.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, IT, and other relevant departments to align data management strategies with business objectives. Engage with senior management to provide insights on data quality, system performance, and potential areas of improvement. 6. Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports and analyses on data quality, system utilization, and performance metrics for management review.

Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making. 7. Technology Evaluation and Vendor Management: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to accounting systems and data governance. Evaluate and select third-party vendors or solutions as needed, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications (eg, CPA, CISA) preferred. Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting systems management, data governance, or a related role. Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, practices, and regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems (eg, SAP, Oracle), and data management tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.

Experience in process improvement methodologies (eg, Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus. Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance (eg, GDPR, SOX). Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
